Fine Art and Glicee Prints by Montague Dawson (1895-1973)

Montague Dawson, born in Chiswick, London, was a British painter, renowned as a maritime artist. His most famous paintings depict sailing ships, usually clippers or warships of the 18th and 19th centuries. Dubbed “king of the clipper ship school," Dawson is considered to be one of the greatest nautical artists of the 20th century. At the peak of his career, he was said to be the highest-paid painter other than Picasso.
