The opposition steamer Orizaba arrived last night at 12 o'clock, bringing the Atlantic mail, but no later news.

The New York and California Steamship Co.'s steamer Orizaba left San Francisco Sept. 20th; 28th, at 2 p.m. arrived at Acapulco, and took on board supplies, and sailed at 10 p.m.; Oct. 4th, at 5 a.m., arrived at Panama. Passengers and baggage crossed the Isthmus, and went to sea from Aspinwall at 4 p.m. in steamship North Star.

Oct. 14th, at 5 p. m., left Panama with 601 passengers, 310 packages express freight, and 268 bags of United States mail, from New York Oct. 5th, per steamer Northern Light; Oct. 15th, encountered a severe gale of wind and rain, which lasted for five days; Oct 21st, at 2 p.m., arrived at Acapulco, received on board supplies, and left at 10 p.m. Oct. 23th, at 11 p. m., passed Point Conception 3 miles distant, but saw no light; Oct. 29th, at 10 p.m. arrived off the Heads.
