ARRIVAL OF THE STEAMSHIP CORTES.
Two Weeks Later from the Atlantic.

The splendid steamer Cortes, Capt. Cropper, arrived at a few minutes before 1 oclock P.M. yesterday, from Panama June 21st, and San Juan del Sur July 4th. By this arrival we have files of Eastern papers to June 20th, two weeks later than previous advices.

We are indebted to Mr. Smith, Purser of the Corte, for facilities rendered our Marine Reporter, and to Adams & Co., Gregory, and Berford & Co., for the delivery of our files and correspondence.

The following is the memoranda of the Cortez:

Steamship Cortes left Panama for San Juan del Sur June 21; made the run in less than fifty hours. Left San Juan del Sur July 4th, 9 P.M., 8th inst., 3 P.M. were off Acapulco; 9th inst. 1:30 A.M., passed a steamer bound down, supposed to be the Sierra Nevada. 9th inst., 11 A.M. passed P.M.S. Co. steamer Oregon for Panama. 13th inst., spoke ship Charles Frederick of New Bedford, off Island San Bonita, all well; had on board 1300 bbls oil. Have had strong head winds since 13th inst. The Cortes brings 216 passengers, all in good health. The road from San Juan del Sur to Virgin Bay is in excellent condition. On the night of the 4th inst., a passenger by the name of Robert E. Harding, disappeared, supposed to have jumped overboard in a fit of temporary insanity. Died on the passage, Mrs. Weston of Michigan, disease, Pulmonary Consumption, aged 55.
