ARRIVAL OF THE COLUMBUS. - The P.M.S. Co's steamer Columbus, Captain J. B. G. Isham, arrived from Panama yesterday. She left that port on the 1st of August, with 177 passengers and the English mail. We tender our thanks to her obliging Purser, S.R. Holman, Esq., for a passenger list (which will be found in the appropriate column), and also for the following report:

The Columbus left Panama, Aug. 1st, at 6 P.M., with 177 passengers, and English mail for San Francisco, touching at Acapulco. Aug. 4, 11 P.M., passed steamer Northerner, bound to Panama. Arrived at Acapulco, Aug. 9th, at 2 P.M. Took on board coal, water and provisions. Received passengers on board, and at 1:40 A.M. same day, left Acapulco for San Francisco. On 10th inst., saw a steamer steering to the eastward. She had a walking beam engine; no bowsprit. Supposed it was the Sea Bird. At 10 P.M. saw steamer Oregon, 20 hours to Acapulco. Monday, 12th inst., died of dysentery, Amojiah Tunworth, steerage passenger, resident of Troy, Maine. Aug. 13, saw steamer Panama, off Cape St. Lucas. Aug 18, 2-1/2 P.M. Santa Barbara bearing N.NW distance 12 miles, saw steamer Ohio, steering eastward. Same day, midnight, saw steamer of the 15th from San Francisco. Received at Acapulco, five men, former crew of steamer Union, (wrecked) for San Francisco. 19th inst. Mrs. Cassin gave birth to a male child. Mother and child doing well.

We have received copies of resolutions of the cabin and steerage passengers of the Columbus, on her last passage, alluding in very flattering terms to the skill and conduct of Capt. Isham and his officers, and regret that the crowded state of our columns precludes their present publication.
